PoCo Best Biz Awards

We had a fantastic time at our biggest Best Biz Awards yet, celebrating our local business community with more attendees than ever. Thank you to everyone who joined us, and congratulations to all the winners and nominees.

Launched in 2013, the PoCo Best Biz Awards recognizes the contributions of local businesses, celebrates their accomplishments, and encourages Port Coquitlam residents to shop locally for goods and services. It includes an awards program, annual business celebration, and networking.

A business with 1 to 15 employees with some or all of the following characteristics:

  • Has drawn positive attention to Port Coquitlam through its business success, innovation or marketing.
  • Shows leadership in social and cultural responsibility through volunteerism, advocacy, sponsorship, financial and in-kind contributions.
  • Provides outstanding customer service.

A business with more than 16 employees with some or all of the following characteristics:

  • Has drawn positive attention to Port Coquitlam through its business success, innovation or marketing.
  • Shows leadership in social and cultural responsibility through volunteerism, advocacy, sponsorship, financial and in-kind contributions.
  • Provides outstanding customer service.

A home-based business with some or all of the following characteristics:

  • Has demonstrated significant growth and sustainability in business operations and a commitment to excellent customer service.
  • The nominee has shown creativity and innovation in overcoming the common challenges facing small businesses.

A person just launching a business or a business that has started within the past 3 years, with some or all of the following characteristics:

  • Has developed an innovative business concept with good development potential.
  • Has shown creativity and innovation in overcoming the challenges faced by new businesses.
  • Has shined a light on Port Coquitlam by attracting attention regionally.

All nominees will be entered for the People’s Choice Award, which will be voted on by the public. This award goes to a business chosen by the community as a demonstrating overall excellence in business and outstanding positive contribution to the community.
